1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using the Safefind service, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use the service. These terms apply to all users of the platform, including carers, family members, and any person who accesses a profile by scanning an NFC tag or QR code.

2. Description of service

Safefind provides an NFC-powered platform that allows carers to create digital profiles for neurodiverse individuals. These profiles can be accessed by members of the public via NFC tags or QR codes. The service includes scan alerts, location sharing, communication grids, and emergency contact notifications. Safefind is a communication and information tool — it is not a medical device, tracking service, or substitute for professional care.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Safefind account. Profiles may be created for individuals of any age by their parent, legal guardian, or authorised carer. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account access and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating profiles.

4. Carer responsibilities

As a carer using Safefind, you are responsible for ensuring that the information in each profile is accurate and up to date, that you have authority to share the information you include (particularly medical data), that you have consent from or authority over the person whose profile you are creating, and that the emergency contacts you add have agreed to receive scan alert notifications.

5. Use of the service by helpers

When a member of the public ("helper") scans a Safefind NFC tag or QR code, they are granted temporary access to a profile. By scanning, the helper acknowledges that the profile information is shared in good faith for assistance purposes, the session is time-limited and will expire automatically, they should not screenshot, copy, or redistribute the profile information, and sharing their location is voluntary and will be sent to the profile's emergency contacts.

6. Medical information disclaimer

Safefind may display medical conditions, diagnoses, and medication information as provided by the carer. This information is for awareness and assistance purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice. Helpers should always call emergency services (999 / 112) if someone appears to be in immediate medical danger. Safefind does not verify the accuracy of medical information entered by carers.

7. Notifications and alerts

Safefind sends scan alert notifications to emergency contacts via SMS, email, and WhatsApp. While we make reasonable efforts to deliver alerts promptly, we cannot guarantee delivery times or that all messages will be received. Network issues, incorrect contact details, or third-party service outages may affect delivery. Safefind should not be relied upon as the sole method of emergency communication.

8. Location sharing

When a helper shares their location after scanning a tag, this information is transmitted to the profile's emergency contacts. Location accuracy depends on the helper's device and GPS signal. Safefind does not guarantee the accuracy of location data. Location sharing is always voluntary and the helper can decline when prompted by their browser.

9. Subscription and payments

Safefind operates on a subscription basis. Pricing is displayed on our pricing page and may be updated from time to time with reasonable notice. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Payments are processed securely through Stripe or PayPal — we never see or store your full card details. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.

10. Intellectual property

The Safefind name, logo, and all associated branding are the property of Safefind. You retain ownership of all content you upload to the service (photos, text, documents). By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to store and display it as needed to operate the service.

11. Prohibited use

You may not use Safefind to create profiles for individuals without proper authority or consent, upload false, misleading, or harmful information, attempt to access another user's account or data, interfere with the operation of the service, or use the service for any unlawful purpose. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

12. Limitation of liability

Safefind is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that alerts will always be delivered. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Safefind shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

13. Termination

You may close your account at any time. Upon closure, all profile data and associated records will be permanently deleted. We may also suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms. Any provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as limitation of liability) will remain in effect.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of material changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
